SET postpones international road show to end of year
BANGKOK, November 5 (TNA) - The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) this week postponed its international road show to the end of year, as it waited on for details of the post-flood rehabilitation program.
SET President Charamporn Jothikasthira said the SET had postponed the event due to the country’s ongoing flood crisis. He said he would rather wait for the details of the flood prevention and post-flood rehabilitation programs to emerge, as he would use the information to persuade international investors of Thailand’s stability as an investment destination. Also, he would rather wait and see how Thailand’s economy will be after the floods.
In addition, Charamporn said the floods had slowed down the SET’s plan to draw in large investors from abroad, including from Australia, China and Italy. However, SET’s international trade volume is still similar to the pre-crisis figure. (TNA)
