Secretary General: Azerbaijan contributes greatly to WTO customs services

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 12 / Trend A. Akhundov / The World Customs Organisation (WCO) appreciates the efforts of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee's activity, WCO Secretary General Kunio Mikuriya, told journalists at the Conference of Heads of Customs Services in the European Region of the World Customs Organisation in Baku today. He said that the Azerbaijani customs is developing rapidly and contributes greatly to the intensification of mutual integration of the WCO customs services. "The holding of these events in Azerbaijan and the opening of the WCO European Regional Office in Baku shows the role and significance of the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee," Mikuriya said. Baku is hosting the conference on April 12-13. Heads and high ranking officials of the customs services from 36 countries, WCO, the Directorate-General for Taxation and Customs of the European Commission are attending the event.
