Russia delivers 52.48 mln tonnes of oil, 18.85 bln tonnes of coal to China in 2016

BEIJING, September 20. /TASS/. In 2016, China imported 52.48 mln tonnes of oil, 3.3 bln kW/h of electricity and 18.85 mln tonnes of coal from Russia, Vice Premier of the State Council of China Zhang Gaoli said this on Wednesday during a meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Arkady Dvorkovich. According to Zhang Gaoli, cooperation in the energy sector is perhaps the most important component of interaction between China and Russia, as well as cooperation between the two countries in the practical sphere. "It has a great strategic importance for the joint development of both states," he said. According to him, in 2016, China imported 52.48 mln tonnes of oil, 3.3 bln kW/h of electricity and 18.85 mln tonnes of coal from Russia. "Russia has become the leading exporter of oil and electricity, and also ranks fifth in terms of coal supply," Zhang Gaoli added. Read more
