Qatari Institutions Buy More Shares in June Compared to May 2013

Doha, July 10 (QNA) - Qatari institutions bought marginally more shares in the month of June compared with the percentage of shares of the total value bought in May 2013, according to Market Operations and Control Department analyses of the Qatar Exchange. Qatari institutions bought 27.67% and non-Qatari institutions bought 24.20% of shares of the total value of transactions registered in the month of June. Both figures are slightly higher compared to the figures noted in the month of May 2013. Qatari institutions bought 26.86% shares while non-Qatari institutions bought 19.96% shares of the total value of transactions registered in May. Qatari as well as non-Qatari institutional selling was higher in June compared to the figures registered in May 2013. Qatari selling was marginally higher in June at 23.66% compared to 23.57% in May. Non-Qatari institutional selling was notably higher in June at 23.25% compared to 16.56% in May. Among individuals, there was a drop in Qatari transactions in buying as well as selling in June compared to May. In June 35.85% bought and 39.30% sold compared to 40.64% and 45.25% respectively in May. There was a marginal drop in buying and selling shares among non-Qatari individuals in June from 12.54% and 14.62% registered in May to 12.29% and 13.79% respectively. (QNA)
