Qatari Exchange Index up Marginally This Week

Doha, June 21 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange index was marginally up by 1.04 points (0.01%) this week when the bourse closed at 8,253.46 points here Thursday. The trading value decreased this week by 36.53% when it reached QR 723,640,996.09 compared to QR 1,140,219,650.94 last week. The trading volume decreased by 41.10% at 27,304,331 shares as against 46,354,008 shares while the number of transactions dropped by 29.63% at 13,889 transactions compared to 19,737 transactions the previous week. The market capitalization was up by 2.11% to reach QR 453,820,658,533.60 compared to QR 444,451,281,248.92 at the end of previous week. From the 42 listed companies, 21 ended this week higher while 19 fell and two were unchanged. Qatar Oman for Investment Company led the traded value this week with 12.22% of the total traded value. Industries Qatar accounted for 10.70%. The Gulf Warehousing accounted for 7.78%. Banks and financial services sector led the trading value this week with 38.43% of the total traded value. Industrial sector accounted for 19.35%. Transport sector accounted for 11.17% and real estate sector accounted for 10.36%. Banks and financial services sector led the trading volume this week with 42.54% of the total traded volume. Real estate accounted for 18.49%. Consumer goods and services accounted for 10.24% and industrial sector accounted for 9.48%. Banks and financial services sector led the number of transactions traded during this week with 37.39% of the total. Industrial sector accounted for 16.70%. Real estate accounted for 13.21% and consumer goods and services sector accounted for 11.86%. (QNA)
