Qatargas Exploring Possibility of LNG Export to Pakistan

Doha, March 01 (QNA) - Qatargas company announced Thursday that it is exploring the possibility of supplying Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to Pakistan in response to its need for long term LNG supplies. Qatargas is currently monitoring the development of various LNG receiving terminal projects in Pakistan. Several high-level discussions and working-level meetings have taken place between Qatargas and other Pakistani entities, an official source in the company told Qatar News Agency (QNA) today. On February 29, Pakistani daily (The News International) announced that Qatagas has agreed to export 3.5 million tonnes of LNG to Pakistan. Qatargas was established in 1984 and considered the world's biggest LNG producer with production capacity of 42 million tonnes per annum. (QNA)
