Qatar Petroleum Unveils New Corporate Film
Doha, March 6 (QNA) - Qatar Petroleum (QP) has unveiled its new corporate video, which makes full use of modern film production techniques to tell a highly engaging story of the corporation's history and operations as well as the rapid development of the State of Qatar over the years.
QP Public Relations and Communications Manager Sultan Abdulla Ali Al Abdulla, in a media statement released Tuesday said, "Produced under the directives of HE Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al-Sada, Minister of Energy and Industry and Chairman & Managing Director of QP, our new corporate video effectively illustrates the extensive scope of the corporation's operations, the expansion of Qatar's oil & gas industry, as well as the full development of the country's petrochemical industry all of which contribute greatly in Qatar's continued economic growth.
"Everyone who sees the video will surely be amazed by the modern production techniques used to make it informative and entertaining at the same time, while highlighting Qatar s important role in meeting the world s rising energy requirements."
Available in both English and Arabic, QP's new corporate film revolves around a young Qatari boy who opens a magical book that was fished out from the sea.
Suddenly sucked into the pages of the book, he witnesses the first-ever discovery of oil in Dukhan in 1939, the first shipment of Qatari crude oil in 1949, and the discovery in 1971 of the North Field, which is the world s largest single non-associated gas field.
The boy then sees how the optimal utilization of Qatar s abundant oil and gas resources has led to the country s unprecedented social and economic development under the visionary leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani.
Using a combination of sophisticated computer animations, aerial shots, old footage, stirring soundtrack and live-action photography, the new QP corporate video presents a vivid history of the growth of the corporation and it showcases the country's development through the years.
The video also prominently features Qatar's emergence as the world's No. 1 producer of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) and as the global capital of gas-to-liquids (GTL) products.
The over seven-minute video, which was produced by the London-based The Edge Picture Company, can be viewed either on the QP website (www.qp.com.qa), at its official YouTube channel (www.youtube.com/QPQatar), or at its official Facebook page (www.facebook.com/qatarpetroleum). (QNA)
