Qatar to Field Three Teams for Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2013

Doha, June 05 (QNA) - Three teams from Qatar will participate in the Shell Eco-Marathon Asia 2013 to be held from July 4 to 7 in Kuala Lumpur. Qatar University (QU) will be sending two teams and Texas A&M University Qatar will field one team. SEM is a forum that assembles student teams from the region to design, build and compete with energy efficient vehicles. The vehicle of the team that travels the farthest using the least amount of energy it the criteria to adjudge the winner. Shell Qatar will display SEM cars at an unveiling ceremony to be held June 9 at Hall 2 of Qatar National Convention Centre from 10.30am to 12 noon, organisers said today. QU President Professor Sheikha Abdulla Al Misnad; Texas A&M Qatar Dean and CEO Dr. Mark H. Weichold and Qatar Shell Companies, Qatar Shell, Managing Director Wael Sawan will attend the cars' unveiling event. (QNA)
