Qatar Exchange Index Drops 46.08 Points This Week
Doha, May 31 (QNA) - Qatar Exchange index lost 46.08 points (0.54%) this week when the bourse closed at 8,416.83 points Thursday.
The trading value this week decreased by 29.02% when it reached the figure of QR 1,216,013,773.02 compared to QR 1,713,289,573.35 the previous week.
The trading volume decreased by 27.93% to reach 54,529,817 shares, as against 75,661,217 shares, while the number of transactions fell by 27.17%, to reach 19,768 transactions as compared to 27,141 transactions.
The market capitalization fell by 0.65% when it reached QR 451,395,947,432.87 compared to QR 454,353,715,295.70 at
the end of previous week.
From the 42 listed companies 16 ended this week higher while 22 fell and four remained unchanged.
The Qatari Investors Group led the traded value this week with 23.45% of the total traded value. Barwa Real Estate accounted for 8.27% and Mazaya accounted for 7.80%.
The Industrial sector led the trading value this week with 32.18% of the total traded value. Banks and financial services sector accounted for 23.41%. The Real Estate sector accounted for 17.35% and Consumer goods and services accounted for 13.47%.
The Industrial sector led the traded volume this week with 24.46% of the total traded volume. Real Estate accounted for 22.35%. Telecom sector accounted for 16.53% and banks and financial services sector accounted for 16.37%.
The Industrial sector led the number of traded transactions this week with 24.53% of the total number of transactions. Banks and financial services sector accounted for 23.15%. Real Estate accounted for 18.07% and consumer goods and services sector accounted for 14.13%. (QNA)
