Qatar Confirms Its Readiness To Work And Cooperate With Iraq And Expand Trade Exchange

BAGHDAD (NINA) - Qatar has confirmed its readiness to work and cooperate with Iraq and expand trade exchange with it.
A statement from the Ministry of Trade said that its minister, Mohammad Hashim Al-Ani, met on Wednesday Qatar's Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali al-Kuwari on the sidelines of his participation in the 34th session of the Standing Committee for Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.
During the meeting, they discussed means of enhancing and developing Iraq-Qatar relations at all levels.
During the meeting, they also reviewed the preparations and technical procedures for the meetings of the Iraqi-Qatari committee to be held in Doha next month, where the Iraqi side will be headed by the Minister, Mohammad Hashim al-Ani.
The Qatari minister said that "Qatar is ready to work and cooperate with Iraq in all fields and expand trade exchange with it,"
Al-Kuwari also touched upon the subject of the transport agreement signed between Qatar, Iran and Turkey, expressing the hope that Iraq will be among the parties of the agreement which will facilitate the passage of goods through those countries.
For his part, the Minister of Trade, Mohammed Hashim al-Ani welcomed the idea, explaining that the matter was submitted to the Secretariat General of the Council of Ministers to obtain the necessary approvals for accession to the Convention. "/ End
