Qatar Al Meera Holding Enters into Franchise Agreement with WH Smith Travel Limited

Doha, January 16 (QNA) - Al Meera Holding LLC, a subsidiary of the Company having Commercial Registration number 51627, has entered into a franchise agreement with WH Smith Travel Limited (a company incorporated in UK under registration number 06560378). Under this agreement, Al Meera Holding has been granted the exclusive rights to establish and operate in Qatar bookstores under the WH Smith brand using the know-how developed by WH Smith Travel Limited. Al Meera Consumer Goods Company was established in 2004 under the directive of HH the Emir, and is governed by the Qatari Commercial Law and Memorandum of Association as approved by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Al Meera conducts direct sales of fruits and vegetables, meat, fish, fresh food and similar items. It is to be noted that WH Smith PLC is one of the UK's leading retailers and is made up of two core businesses Travel and High Street. The Travel business operates 561 units, mainly in airports, railway stations, motorway service areas, hospitals and workplaces, primarily in the UK.
