QAPCO Launches New Logistic Services Facility in Egypt
Doha, March 22 (QNA) - Qatar Petrochemical Company (QAPCO) has launched a new logistic services in Egypt's Suez free zone of Ataqa, in order to store and support the company products in Egypt.
According to a QAPCO press release issued here on Thursday, QAPCO Vice Chairman and CEO Mohammed Yousef Al Mulla said during the launch ceremony that the goal of establishing representation offices, logistic facilities and regional warehouses in Egypt is to emphasize QAPCO presence in global markets, highlighting the significance of Egypt as one of the most strategic markets in the Middle East.
Al Mulla noted QAPCO's keenness on being present in Egypt since the inception of the company's office there in 2002 and the establishment of the first logistic services facility in Al-Adabia in 2007 to serve clients.
By establishing the new logistic services facility in Suez free zone, QAPCO aims to cover the needs of its local customers in Egypt, Al-Mulla said referring to Egypt as the regional center for exporting QAPCO products to Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
It is worthy to mention that QAPCO was founded in 1974 as a joint multinational venture to utilize the associated and non-associated Ethane feed from petroleum/natural Gas production in line with the industrialization plan of the State of Qatar.
The company is one of the leading producers of ethylene and low-density polyethylene (LDPE) in the Middle East Region. (QNA)
