PM: Thailand remains attractive for regional investment
BANGKOK, January 28 (TNA) - Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra says that Thailand remains attractive for foreign direct investment (FDI) projects in Southeast Asia and her government is confident that the country will, in 2012, not face any flooding crisis, like the one taking place late last year.
Yingluck, who is in Switzerland to attend the 42nd World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos from January 26-29 and to meet world leading business persons, told more than 700 government leaders and senior business executives attending the "Thailand Night" fair, organised Friday night on the sidelines of four-day WEF, that Thailand has strong potential and business opportunities to be further explored by global business operators.
Yingluck affirmed that a flooding disaster, like the one hitting the Kingdom in late 2011, will not reoccur, as her government has mapped out water management plans, along with other major economic policies, including new investment in several public utility projects which will connect with other countries in the region and will make Thailand become an ideal place for regional investment.
The Thai premier took the opportunity to invite foreign government leaders and international business leaders to attend the 20th World Economic Forum on East Asia to be held in Bangkok from May 30-June 1, 2012. (TNA)
