Operator to replace broken-down water meters in Azerbaijan free of charge

Azerbaijan Baku, Feb 13 / Trend A. Akhundov / Azersu state company, a water supply operator of Azerbaijan, plans to replace the water meters that broke down as a result of frost to the new ones at their own expense, the company told Trend on Monday. "The exact number of such meters is being calculated. For example, Sabail district of Baku has received over 200 complaints about this problem," the company reported. The number of cases of water meters failure will only grow from the warming. "Meters will be replaced at the earliest possible date at Azersu's funds, the company said. In general, the problem is not in the main lines, water enters the city from all sources, the company added. Complaints received on the company's "hot line" are mainly cases of water freezing in pipes. The number of serious accidents in these pipes has increased in recent days. "There have been cases of water freezing in the water conduits, especially in private houses. Now, with increasing temperature the water in the pipes thawed, and now we found damages in them, through which the water percolates. Just yesterday there were 58 such cases. Today the temperature has increased, so they will be more," the company said. Due to weather conditions the water operator switched to the enhanced mode of operation. Do you have any feedback?
