MTT, IATA sign MoU annex

Manama, Jan. 25 (BNA): The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT)'s Civil Aviation Affairs has signed an annex to a Memorandum of Understanding on collaboration of safety-related matters with the International Air Transport Association (IATA). The annex includes recognition of IATA Safety Audit for Ground operations (ISAGO) as an acceptable means of compliance, which the CAA uses in its oversight and regulation activities of all ground handling service providers in Bahrain. Entities wishing to avail from this streamlined methodology are required to seek ISAGO registration. Hussain Al Shuail, Assistant Undersecretary for Aviation Security and Safety signed the agreement with Jehad Faqair of IATA, during the fourth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS2016), held at the Sakhir Airbase on January 21-23.
