Minister of Energy and Industry: the Minister of Energy and Industry: Vessel Jinan will Support Qatar and Gulf Marine Environment

Doha, March 18 (QNA) - HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada has said the research vessel Jinan of the Environmental Studies Centre at Qatar University will contribute to supporting industry and marine environment in Qatar because it is equipped with the-state-of-the-art technology. In a statement to reporters on the sidelines of the vessel's reception ceremony, Al-Sada said Jinan is unique of its kind in the region and has a high-tech that will enable it perform its work effectively, saying it will roam the Qatari and Gulf territorial waters to take samples in order to use them in researches that benefit the current and future generations. He praised, in this regard, the achievements of the University of Qatar, which he said was a cause for pride in the country, adding that its interest in the sea and its rich environment reflects the awareness of the past and present of the State of Qatar. He pointed out that as Qatar is a peninsula connected with the sea which has been the source of its economy, it is important to preserve the marine environment and watch it through the use of the vessel. Dr. Al-Sada also hailed the fruitful cooperation between the University of Qatar and the Ministry of Energy and Industry, saying that the university has great potentials and scientific cadres "and we are proud of this new achievement."
