Kuwaiti Oil Minister Concerned About Oil Demand
Doha , December 05 (QNA) - Kuwaiti Minister of Oil Mohammad Mohsen Al Busairi expressed Monday his concern for energy demand in the mid and long-term, due to the turbulent and unstable economic climate worldwide.
Addressing the first session of the 20th World Petroleum Congress (WPC) now held in Doha, the Minister called for finding new markets in order to maintain the level of energy demand, something he believes will protect the interest of suppliers and consumers of energy.
Touching on the challenges facing the energy sector, he discussed the environmental challenge, the importance of keeping abreast of the newest technological developments and financing projects to expand the sector.
He said that Kuwait is committed to preserving energy security worldwide. He added that the country will look to invest in the field to achieve high growth levels. He discussed Kuwait's Ministry of Oil plan to enhance using gas in generating electricity.
He further said that Kuwait is working on activating these investments through partnerships between national Kuwaiti companies and their international counterparts, with the aim of finding investments that will help increase energy security worldwide. (QNA)
