Iranian President talks water transmission line from Persian Gulf

TEHRAN, Iran, Nov. 5
Trend:
Iran's President Hassan Rouhani called the water transmission line from the Persian Gulf to central Iran the line of hope.
“We were able to open an incredible project of water transmission from the Persian Gulf to central Iran,” President Hassan Rouhani said at the opening ceremony of the first stage of desalination and the first section of the water transmission line to the Central Plateau of Iran, Trend reports citing IRNA.
"I really have to put this water transmission line as a transmission line of hope. Because not only water but also the hope will reach Central Iran, via this line," Rouhani said.
The president added that his government has completed huge projects and it has very big plans ahead.
“This year, we will have a plan to revitalize Lake Urmia, which is also a unique plan,” he announced. “Another massive project will be the Gore-Jask crude oil pipeline project which will be opened early next Iranian year (start on March 21, 2021).”
Supplying water to Yazd, which is a dry and desert province, is a very complicated and multidimensional issue. Numerous plans have been proposed to resolve the problem, including transferring water to the province from the Zagros drainage basin (western Iran) and the Karun River’s tributaries (southwestern Iran) as well as the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman.
Heavy costs and techno-engineering requirements, however, have slowed the implementation of these projects.
