Iran for expansion of naval transportation with Syria
Damascus, Dec 18, IRNA - Deputy Minister of Road and Transportation and Managing Director of Ports and Shipping Organization Ali Taheri, who is in Syria, underlined the necessity of expansion of naval transportation between Iran and Syria.
On the sidelines of fourth meeting of naval transportation joint
committee here Wednesday, Taheri told reporters, "In the field of
politics we have very strong ties with Syria, but, unfortunately, in
the field of transportation we have had less progress."
He added," In the meeting with Syrian minister of Transportation, he
emphasized the issue, too."
Taheri expressed Iran's readiness to exchange its experiences in the
fields of naval technical affairs, designing and building ships and
construction of ports to Syria.
He continued, "Among other issues to be discussed in today's meeting
are exchanging educational experiences in the fields of navigation and
sea affairs."
Syrian Deputy Minister of Transportation in Naval Affairs Emad
Abdulhay, for his part, told reporters that Syria intends to use
Iran's experiences in the fields of naval affairs, navigation,
construction and rebuilding ports and repairing ships.
"Considering Iran's progressive and strong naval academy, we intend to
use their experiences in this field and create a similar center here
in Syria," Abdulhay continued.
