Gulf Air BIAS2016 official carrier

Manama, May 11 (BNA): The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) has announced that Gulf Air, the Kingdom’s national carrier, has signed a two-show agreement as the official carrier for the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS2016). The fourth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and under the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa - HM the King's Personal Representative and Head of the Supreme Organising Committee of BIAS, will be hosted at Sakhir Air Base, from 21 to 23 January 2016. The Show is organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and the Royal Bahraini Air Force. Speaking about the announcement, Ahmed Al Nemah the Acting Undersecretary for Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications said: "Gulf Air’s continuous support– which we have had since BIAS was launched in 2010 has been one of the success drivers for the show, enabling us to host an event that showcases the Kingdom as a center for service excellence and unique business opportunities in the global aerospace industry." "With this support, we can continue to highlight the investment opportunities Bahrain presents for the civil and military aviation sectors and we look forward to continue working with Gulf Air as we all cooperate to make BIAS a success," he said. He added that building on the success of the previous event and following the directives of HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Khalifa - Head of the Supreme Organising Committee of BIAS, new features have been added to the show in line with key strategic areas of growth and development with an overall aim to further promote the aviation industry and highlight BIAS’s role as a networking event that establishes a unique platform for doing business. To this end, the fourth edition of the show will include an exhibition feature hall focused on unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) and airport infrastructure. Gulf Air A/Chief Executive Officer Maher Salman Al Musallam spoke of the airline’s longstanding support of the Bahrain International Airshow. "As the national carrier of the Kingdom of Bahrain it is integral that Gulf Air takes part in this event which has established itself as a focal event for the international and regional aviation community and which enables stakeholders within the industry to showcase and promote their latest state-of-the-art offerings under one roof. We are truly delighted to continue our longstanding support and we are confident that the 2016 edition will further contribute to the Kingdom’s successes," he said. The airshow has already experienced strong interest with commitments from BAE Systems, Boeing, DHL, Qatar Airways and Gulfstream, Airbus amongst other international aviation civil and defence companies.
