GPIC wins Excellence in Bahrainisation Award

Manama, May 13 (BNA): Labour Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan has conferred the Excellence in Bahrainisation Award on the Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC). The Award, in recognition of the Company’s approach to the training and development, was delivered during a ceremony to honour outstanding institutions in training and human resources development, under the patronage of the Minister of Labour. In a statement, GPIC President Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery said he took pride in the achievement, which, he said, was confirmation of the Company's approach to training and development, one of the most important elements of success the Company had witnessed over the years. He said GPIC is keen to provide education and training opportunities aimed at giving employees the skills that enable them to achieve further heights. Dr. Jawahery attributed the success to flexible strategic planning by the Company’s Board of Directors, led by GPIC Chairman Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa and the management. He praised the co-operation with, and efforts of, the Executive Management to execute the plans on the ground, which had resulted in the Company’s smooth operations at all levels. Dr. Jawahery said the distinguished and continuing achievements of the Company became a reality only because of the support and guidance of the wise leadership, which paved the way for the Company achieving this success. He said the Company’s training policy aims to implement a comprehensive plan to develop Bahraini professionals’ expertise. This, he said, has been achieved through training programmes implemented by the Company’s Leadership and Learning Academy, not only for those who had recently joined the Company but for all other workers as well. He said the process of training and development combined practical lessons and courses both within and outside Bahrain. He said the Company adopts a policy of keeping abreast, at all times, of changes taking place within the industry. Dr. Jawahery thanked and appreciated the Minister for his continued support, encouragement and co-operation for the Company’s programmes and policies. He said GPIC is privileged to note that its activities had contributed to the development of the principles and skills of administrative leadership and help create a positive feeling among workers. He said the recognition would contribute towards encouraging the Company to continue its approach in the field. Dr. Jawahery said GPIC would continue to develop its human resources and people’s skills by providing employees with special skills and encouraging them to take part in specialised courses, workshops and gatherings within and outside Bahrain.
