GPIC takes part in Invest in Bahrain

Manama, Nov. 12 (BNA): The Gulf petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) took part in the Invest in Bahrain Exhibition as part of its desire to support the community and to contribute to its development. The event, to encourage investment and to promote Bahrain, was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Conference Centre. Deputy Prime Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa opened the show after being delegated by HRH the Prime Minister. H.E. Shaikh Khalid visited the GPIC pavilion at the exhibition and was received by Company President, Dr. Abdulrahman Jawahery along with members of the GPIC Executive Management. The Deputy Prime Minister was escorted around the exhibits, where he saw models of the Company's products and learnt about the latest awards it has won, both for excellence in the industrial field and in the implementation of community initiatives that contribute to upgrade and develop society. H.E. Shaikh Khalid said he was greatly impressed with the advanced level reached by the Company in the field of petrochemicals and fertilizers and the prestigious awards it had won as a result of its exemplary reputation in the field of clean industry. He also expressed appreciation for GPIC’s outstanding contributions towards the development of society through awareness programmes and other activities. Dr. Jawahery thanked Shaikh Khalid and appreciated his opening the exhibition, saying GPIC was keen to highlight its role as a leader in the industry. He thanked Bahrain’s Leadership for the support and the encouragement for the Company’s success, which had made it one of the leading contributors to Bahrain’s economy. Dr. Jawahery said GPIC’s participation had provided a platform for businesses and private sector institutions to identify the most promising investment opportunities in the Country as well as to discuss the possibility of setting up joint ventures as well as exchange experiences in the field of care and support for small and medium-sized enterprises. The President said such events play an important role in defining the potential of Bahrain’s industrial sector in terms of its diversity and the development of industrial projects. He said this also confirmed the high production volumes at the Company and its increased contributions to Bahrain’s GDP. He pointed out that holding the exhibition confirms that the manufacturing option is a strategic one that involves the promotion the industrial sector and encourages it to play a role in increasing the GDP, provide job opportunities for citizens and stimulate other sectors. Dr. Jawahery thanked the exhibition organizers and expressed the hope that it would help in private-public partnership in the industrial sector and lead to increasing competitiveness internationally. The "Invest in Bahrain" exhibition showcased available investment opportunities in Bahrain as well as the facilities and support available for investors from within and outside the country.
