Doha, February 19 (QNA) - The Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC) has released the 103rd volume of its "Industrial Cooperation in the Arabian Gulf" Journal. The new edition shed light on the industrial subcontracting and partnership program in the GCC countries, which GOIC is implementing in collaboration with the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO). The journal dedicated an extensive dossier for the Gulf International Forum and Exhibition for Industrial Subcontracting and Partnership "Gulf Subcon", which GOIC will organize in Saudi Arabia next month. The new edition also included a number of economic articles dealt with Gulf investments, direct foreign investments in the GCC countries for the period 2000-2010, the US financial policy and its impact on the GCC economy, food security and others. The journal also featured a new report reveals that the chemical and petrochemical industries sector in the GCC countries is one of the most important industrial manufacturing activities, which represents about 60.4 percent of the total funds invested in the manufacturing industries. The report also indicates that the number of factories in the GCC countries rose from 2399 in 2007 to 2725 in 2011, a growth rate of 3.2 percent. The investments for the same period rose from 73,911 million dollars up to 195,454 million dollars, while the number of employees for this period rose from 183,650 workers to reach up to 256,254 workers. The new edition also pointed out that the GCC countries must review their actual need of the foreign employment, stop recruitment in many professions and jobs, provide guidance to young men and women to determine the function and disciplines since the early stages of study, encourage small and medium enterprises, encourage handicrafts and professions, and create new jobs.
