European Investment Bank to finance road construction in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 30 / Trend N. Kirtzkhalia / The Georgian government will take a loan from the European Investment Bank to construct the 51 kilometer-Samtredia-Grigleti road section in western Georgia. The European Investment Bank will allocate 170 million euro to construct the road, as well as a grant worth 20 million euro, Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said at a meeting today. He said that the loan will be given for 30 years. The government will not pay interest during the first ten years. He added that the east-west highway was practically contracted.
