CBB holds roundtable discussion on gender-related policies

Manama, Oct. 28 (BNA): The Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) held a roundtable discussion with CEOs and Managers of local and international financial institutions to examine and debate gender related policies impacting the role of women and their development in the financial services industry.
The meeting, which was moderated by the Governor of the CBB, Mr. Rasheed Al Maraj, discussed the policies adopted by international institutions to ensure equal opportunities for all employees of the institutions.
Commenting on the event, Mr. Rasheed Al Maraj said: "We are pleased to organize this important meeting which brought together the CEOs and Managers of the financial and banking institutions in the Kingdom to adopt this vision which aims to implement relevant policies to support the development of managerial skills and competencies for all employees in the sector.
"I wish to extend my thanks and appreciation to the CEOs of the financial institutions for their continuous support in the events which were held throughout the year and their contribution towards achieving the objectives of the conference," he added.
This was the last meeting of the year-long campaign of activities which will culminate with a final event, the "Women in the Financial and Banking Sector Leading the Change" conference on the 30th of November 2015 at the Four Seasons Bahrain Bay. It is expected to bring together more than 250 members of the industry including senior members and heads of the Kingdom’s top financial institutions, senior women in banking and finance and the next generation of women leaders. The conference agenda includes sessions on factors shaping the future of women in finance, and sustainability and competitiveness of women in the industry. Senior international bankers will speak in the conference sessions, such as Ms. Denise Wilson, Chief Executive of Davies Review - Women on Boards, Ms. Guelabatin Su, the Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion in Deutsche Bank Group, Dr. Mahnaz Safa, the Managing Director of Financial Services at Citi and Ms. Chanda Kocchar, the Managing Director and CEO at ICICI Bank.
