British ambassador lauds growing Bahraini-British trade relations

Manama, Apr. 10 (BNA): British Ambassador to Bahrain Iain Lindsay has said the Bahraini-British trade relations have grown over the past five years by 10%. Speaking to Al-Wasat newspaper, he pointed out a perpetual increase in British exports to Bahrain because of the Bahraini consumers' confidence in the British products. He said there is a strong relationship between Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and the British embassy, adding that coordination is being made to attract more British companies to Bahrain. He noted that a meeting was held with EDB Chief Executive Khalid Al-Rumaihi last week in this regard, pointing out a focus on particular sectors. The British ambassador has emphasised that the British investments will benefit Bahrain's economy by providing new job opportunities and invigorating the economy. He praised Bahrain as a favourable investment destination for the British companies thanks to the facilities provided by the government and the kingdom's strategic location. He also expressed happiness about the new partnership between both countries to develop the public bus network in Bahrain.
