Border crossing duration reduced for freight trains

Ulaanbaatar /MONTSAME/. Officials of Ulaanbaatar Railway JSC, the railway of Hohhot, and the Erlian station of People's Republic of China held a meeting, coming to the decision to focus on increasing the number of trains being exchanged at the Zamiin-Uud and Erlian stations, and reducing the duration required for trains to cross the border from 3 hours to 1 hour and 5 minutes. As a result of collaboration with freight senders and recipients, the issue with trains carrying frozen iron ore that were stuck at the station of Erlian was quickly resolved, officials reported during the virtual meeting held on January 9. Furthermore, 2,307 train cars have been used to export mining products from the Bor-Undur mine.
