Baku to host conference on national oil databases

Azerbaijan, Baku, Oct. 29/ corr. Trend E.Ismayilov / A regular conference on national oil databases will be held in Baku in 2014, SOCAR said in a statement released on Monday. According to the report, the decision was made at a traditional conference on national oil database, which was held on October 21-25 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia). At the conference with participation of 180 representatives from 35 countries of the world, Azerbaijan was represented by a delegation headed by the SOCAR vice president on human resources, regime and information technologies Khalig Mammadov The conference, which will be held in Baku, will bring together more than 200 representatives from 40-45 countries. Preparations for the conference has been entrusted to SOCAR Department of Information Technologies and Communications. SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (the companies producing oil and gas on and offshore), the Azerkimya industrial association (chemical enterprises) and Azerigaz industrial association (gas distribution). SOCAR is the only producer of oil products in the country (it has two refineries on its balance sheet) and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
