Bahraini-Japanese economic relations discussed

Manama, May 9 (BNA): Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) Khalid Abdulrahman Al-Moayyad has stressed the importance of discussing the best means to consolidate the mechanisms of joint cooperation between Bahrain and Japan. He said BCCI was looking forward to increasing the volume of trade exchange between the two countries, which reached $ 97.6 million according to the indicators of the Central Informatics Organisation (CIO) for the first quarter of 2015. He called for the need to develop joint investments, highlighting Japan's economic strength. BCCI Chairman was speaking BCCI's meeting with the Japanese Parliamentary Vice-Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Daishiro Yamagiwa, and his accompanying delegation. He explained that the Bahraini market is capable of hosting various economic projects in collaboration with all countries thanks to its competitive advantages, such as laws, legislation and economic infrastructure that support investors, and strategic location as a gateway for the wider GCC market. He highlighted the importance of bilateral meetings, and exchange of visits between Bahraini and Japanese businessmen during the coming period. He expressed the Bahraini private sector's desire to enhance economic ties with Japan, stressing the government's keenness to open up new horizons of economic, trade and investment cooperation with it. The Japanese minister lauded the kingdom's perfect economic environment thanks to its laws and facilities that attract foreign investments. He highlighted the desire of the Japanese government and private sector to boost cooperation with Bahrain, lauding BCCI's effective role in enhancing economic growth in the kingdom.
