Bahrain attends Doha Forum

Doha, Oct.26 (BNA): Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) First Deputy Chairman Othman Mohammed Sharif Al-Rayyes led a strong delegation to attend the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Economic Forum which was held in Doha. The Amir of Qatar Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani patronized the symposium, which was held under the theme “”Consolidating the economic contribution of the GCC private sector to the economic development”. The delegation included board members Nabil Khalid Kanoo and Dima Rasool, Dr. Lulwa Al-Mutlaq, Mohammed Amine Al-Khaja, Nabil Ajur and Salim Al-Mannai, members of the Bahraini side in in joint business council with Qatar, in addition to BCCI Chief Executive Officer Nabil Abdulrahman Al-Mahmoud. The forum was also attended by representatives of the GCC ministries of commerce and industry, finance, planning and economy, heads and members of the GCC chambers, organizations, Gulf centres, specialized institutions, economic, social and political researchers, young entrepreneurs and owners of small and medium enterprises (SMEs). The two-day symposium discussed the joint GCC economic work, structural economic and IT reforms in member countries, the role of the private sector as an engine for sustainable development and the future prospects of the GCC customs union and common market.
