Azerbaijan simplifies customs control procedures at airport

Azerbaijan, Baku, March 3 / Trend A.Akhundov / Central Administration of Customs on air transport of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan has begun to use new technological scheme, governing rules of appeals and issues of registration on customs clearance of goods at the Heydar Aliyev International Airport, the article by the Administration's chief Sabiq Abduyev published on Saturday said. Abduyev said information kiosks "e-customs declaration - Electronic Customs Service" have been set in the zone of customs control at the airport. Through these kiosks citizens can obtain information about the rules of customs clearance, customs duties and tariff rates, commodity classification, as well as to electronically declare the imported and exported goods through filling in passenger declaration. Thus, when using this e-customs service passengers will significantly save their time. For this they have to fill in the declaration, print it and submit to Customs official at the border. This component of the e-customs project is being implemented in the administration as a pilot project. Until now, the customs control of goods and passengers was carried before the boarding registration. "This, in turn, created additional anxiety and difficulties, and led to misunderstanding between the customs officers and citizens," said Abduyev. He said use of new technological scheme aims primarily to improve the quality of customs services offered to the citizens of Azerbaijan, as well as citizens of foreign countries, and ensure their comfort.
