Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan discuss supply of oil products

Azerbaijan, Baku, Jan.18 / Trend V. Zhavoronkova, E. Ismayilov /
Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan are discussing supply of Azerbaijani oil products, Kyrgyz Oil Traders' Association President Jumakadyr Akeneev said on Wednesday.
At present, head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Rovnag Abdullayev is in Bishkek. He is conducting negotiates on the state level on supply of oil products to the Kyrgyz market.
"If we agree on the cost of fuel and lubricants, then further negotiations will be continued on the supply scheme," Akeneev said. Earlier Kyrgyz side was not satisfied with the price of oil products offered by SOCAR.
Akeneev said 300,000 tons of fuel and lubricants may be supplied from Azerbaijan to Kyrgyzstan per year. Although Kyrgyzstan has a contract with Russia, the country wants to diversify sources of fuel and lubricants supplies.
The sides, according to Akeneev, can either create a joint venture, or reach an agreement on the direct supply of oil products to the republic.
Akeneev estimated the country's demand for fuel and lubricants for 2012 at one million tons.
