Azerbaijan to change assessment rules of facilities built under government procurement

Azerbaijan, Baku, April 13 / Trend A.Akhundov / The principle of assessment of facilities build under government procurement will change in Azerbaijan, the deputy head of the State Agency for the Supervision of Construction of Ministry of Emergency Situations, Elkhan Asadov, said during public discussions on the draft Construction and Urban Planning Code. Discussions are held with the assistance of the American Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Lawyers of Azerbaijan and the German Society for International Cooperation. "According to a new principle, the assessment will be made not on the basis of the base price as of 1991, as is done now and prices that were at the beginning of the construction period," said Asadov. He added this is a very flexible principle and its application is expected to start in 2013. "We now require an assessment of only those facilities whose construction is funded through the state budget. Assessment of construction facilities funded from other sources does not concern any state agency. It is based on an agreement between the developer and investor and we do not require from investors any documents on the assessment," said Asadov. Do you have any feedback?
