Auditors entrusted with task to identify politically active businessmen in Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, April 4 / Trend, N.Kirtskhalia / Obligations for audit companies in connection with identifying politically active individuals will be effective from April 4. Change will also concern foreign nationals doing business in Georgia, founder of major accounting company BDO Zurab Lalazashvili told Trend on Wednesday He said if facts of political activity of companies will be revealed during the audit, then the appropriate notice must be sent to the Financial Monitoring Service of the Control Chamber of Georgia. Commercial banks operating in Georgia are entrusted with a similar obligation. The corresponding amendment to the legislation is made to curb illegal financing of parties in Georgia.
