Al-Attiyah : "Qatar Develops a Huge Infrastructure"
Doha, January 15 (QNA) - HE the Chairman of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah said expansion of infrastructure and the establishment of projects in Qatar ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which Qatar will host, will inject a new dynamism in the country's campaign to build the foundations of a diversified and sustainable future economy.
HE Attiyah said Qatar is currently developing a huge infrastructure and expanding a plan including transport, health, education, water, sports, tourism and all other sectors, supported by its success in hosting the 2022 World Cup football in 2022.
He stressed that Qatar's economy was radically transformed in the recent years thanks to the vision of HH the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani and his wise strategy which relies primarily on the development of the country's natural resources for the benefit of the people and the diversification of the economy in order to create a better and a more sustainable future for the generations to come.
These remarks came in a speech HE Al-Attiyah delivered at the opening session of a two-day symposium on "infrastructure projects and management of water treatment, sanitation and building technology," which was organized in Doha by Japan's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and the Ministry of Economy and Trade and Industry in coordination with the Japanese embassy in Qatar.
He praised the efforts made by the Japanese companies and institutions involved in preparing and organizing this symposium which deals with two vital issues considered important for development in Qatar and relate to infrastructure projects, water technologies, noting that the infrastructure is the backbone of development and water is life.
He added that the organization of this symposium was a direct result of the joint commitment to the effort made within in the framework of the Economic Commission, which was established between the two countries, which I had the honour to be its co-chairman for the Qatari side." (QNA)
