Manama, Oct. 14 (BNA): As part of the Bahrain International Airshow organising team’s efforts to involve national companies to participate in major international events hosted in the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Ahmed Al-Nemah, Acting Undersecretary of Civil Aviation Affairs at the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications (MTT) and a member of the Supreme Organising Committee of the Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) signed a contract with Ahli United Bank (AUB), to mark their bronze sponsorship of BIAS 2016. BIAS 2016, which is scheduled to be held at the Sakhir Airbase in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 21 to 23, 2016 under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of Bahrain, and under the supervision of His Highness Shaikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, the Personal Representative of His Majesty the King and the Chairman of the Supreme Organising Committee of BIAS, is organised by the Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and Royal Bahraini Air Force and in cooperation with Farnborough International Ltd. On this occasion Ahmed Al-Nemah stated "The participation and support of Ahli United Bank in the Bahrain International Airshow is an example of the pivotal role played by Bahraini banks in the aviation industry and in contributing to the airshow’s success. "We are proud of the company’s continuous support of the Bahrain International Airshow", he added. For his part, Derek Lunt, Deputy Group CEO of corporate banking at Ahli United Bank, said: "We are delighted to support the Bahrain International Airshow as a Bronze Sponsor and wish the organizers every success with this prestigious event which promotes Bahrain positively on the international level and will attract global attention and investment opportunities." BIAS 2016 will feature a special hall to display unmanned aircraft (UAV) as well as a dedicated wing to exhibit special equipment and services used to develop infrastructure of airports which will provide opportunities for interaction and communication with exhibitors and visitors. On the sidelines of the exhibition there will also be various activities which will include a "Host the Buyer" program and a conference titled "Air Transport in the 21st Century" which will be held during the first two days of the show. In addition, a special symposium for the leaders of the Middle East aviation industry will be held a day before the opening, at which main issues of the industry will be discussed. Several international companies have now confirmed their participation at the Bahrain International Airshow 2016, including BAE systems, Boeing, FLEX an Italian Company, Rostec (Russia), Qatar Airlines, Gulfstream and Airbus and other companies working in the civil and military aviation sectors. About Bahrain International Airshow: The Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications of the Kingdom of Bahrain will organize the Fourth Bahrain International Airshow, in cooperation with Royal Bahraini Air force and Farnborough International Ltd. (FIL). The event will be hosted at Sakhir Airbase in the Kingdom of Bahrain from January 21 to 23, 2016. The Bahrain International Airshow is held once every two years and it provides many high-level opportunities for about 40 participating companies, offering their products and services in chalets luxury and/or airport suites and unmanned vehicles.
