2Connect–Bahrain, GCCIA sign agreement to expand coverage

Manama, Feb. 15 (BNA): Hamad Al Amer, Board Member and Managing Director of 2Connect, a licensed operator and leading provider of telecommunications solutions in Bahrain, announced that it has expanded its regional network coverage through an agreement with the Gulf Cooperation Council Interconnection Authority (GCCIA) based in Dammam, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This agreement provides 2Connect with direct fibre optic connectivity to other licensed operators in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates. Underscoring 2Connect’s continuing commitment to servicing the needs of its global customerbase through its offices in Manama and London, the agreement enables 2Connect to deliver services quickly and reliably to companies based in Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). This investment in network infrastructure highlights 2Connect’s pursuit towards contributing to the development of advanced telecoms infrastructures for the Kingdom of Bahrain and will provide 2Connect’s customers with the most efficient connection highway to reach clients throughout the region, Al Amer said. He added that through this agreement, 2Connect is working to support Bahrain’s economy in this area in order to achieve the goals of Economic Vision 2030, which was launched in October 2008 by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. “2Connect understands the Bahrain and wider Middle East data communication market and the importance of network resiliency and quality of service for our customers and their clients,” Chief Operations Officer Rick Hillson said. “We are committed to this agreement with the GCCIA to speed the development of our network infrastructure in the region. This connectivity will form part of a Middle Eastern hub located in Bahrain which will connect Europe and Asia to our GCC partners with an ultra-resilient, secure network supported by 2Connect’s unmatched 24/7/365 proactive service management to facilitate high performance networks within the region.”
