16,000 visited Bahrain Pavilion in Gulfood2015

Dubai, Feb. 14 -- (BNA): "Work Smart", the company responsible for organizing the Bahraini pavilion at the food and hospitality exhibition "Gulfood 2015", announced that the number of visitors to the pavilion reached nearly 16,000 visitors. Nine Bahraini companies took part in the five-day exhibition, which started on the 9 of February at the Dubai Trade Centre, and showcased their last innovations, services and products in the field of food industry in Bahrain. "Work Smart" Chairman of Board, Ahmed Al-Hujairi, said that the Bahraini participation in the event’s 20th edition achieved a number of goals. "Goals like introducing the Bahraini food products and promoting for them on both regional and global levels, being briefed on the latest technologies in the food industry around the world and use these technologies to achieve higher competitiveness in the food industries in Bahrain," he pointed out. "The importance of the Bahraini participation in the event comes under relentless pursuit of "food security" in the Kingdom through being briefed on the latest international experiences in the field of production, manufacture and trade of food and beverages of all kinds and how to achieve the highest sustainable and competitive as possible in the food sector. The exhibition has become an opportunity to exchange experiences and business deals in addition to promote Bahraini goods and products under the trade agreements of the Kingdom of Bahrain with global economic blocs," he explained. Al-Hujairi called for strengthening Bahraini participation within the its pavilion at the exhibition which, he stressed, has become a global platform for trade in the food sector, and attracted at its current edition around 4,800 of international food companies from 120 countries at the exhibition spaces spread over 127 thousand square meters. The event, he assured, has become one of the most major drive of growth in the global food and beverage markets. It is noteworthy that 9 Bahraini companies joined the Bahraini pavilion this year including Trafco Group, Bahrain Water Bottling Factory, Awal Dairy Factory, Sitra Meat Factory, Al-Salwa Meat Factory, Deekoo Bahrain Aluminium, Mohammed Ali Asghar Commercial Group, Mac factories for sweets and chewing gums, the Spud and Jacket potato. "Gulfood 2015" during the five days witnessed a number of the leading and global activities in the field of food industry. It hosted a high-level government officials, leaders of the leading global experts and commercial private sector within the "Gulfood Events for Leaders". It also hosted summits like "Global Food Security", "Food Franchise Licenses" and "Halal Investments" conference which discussed the business opportunities offered by the global "Halal" market estimated with an amount of $ 1.1 trillion.
