FNC Speaker meets Romanian Tourism Minister
Dubai, May 11, 2009 (WAM) - Speaker of Federal National Council H.E Abdul Aziz Al Ghurair received yesterday visiting Romanian Tourism Minister and MP Elena Udrea. The meeting explored ways of enhancing bilateral cooperation in areas of economy, investment and tourism.
The FNC Speaker told his guest that tourism was gaining increasing attention in the national strategic plans. ''In future, tourism could generate income that is equivalent to revenues came from the oil industry,'' he said.
The Romanian minister said she had sensed a sincere desire from the UAE officials to develop joint cooperation in tourism. She added that Romania was considering a plan under which foreign investors would be granted land in spectacular places to build hotel and resorts.
