Rotana Jet announces domestic service expansion from Abu Dhabi International Airport

Abu Dhabi, Sept 10, 2012 (WAM) - Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and Rotana Jet announced yesterday the launch of double daily services to Fujairah, Al Ain and Sharjah from Abu Dhabi International Airport, in an initiative from the airline to extend its domestic route network. This comes just three months after it launched the first domestic scheduled flight in UAE to Sir Bani Yas and Delma Island.
The announcement was made at a joint press briefing at Abu Dhabi International Airport in presence of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Rotana Jet, Ahmed Al Hadabi, CEO of Airports Operations at ADAC and Mohamed Abdulla Sultan Al Salami, Chairman of Civil Aviation for the Government of Fujairah.
Effective 19th September 2012, Rotana Jet will be operating 2 flights a day between Abu Dhabi International airport and Fujairah. Double Daily Flights to Al Ain will commence on the 20th September 2012 and flights to Sharjah will follow. These routes will be operated by Embraer ERJ145 aircraft with 50 seats and comfortable 31" seat pitch.
Commenting on this new service, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saif Al Nahyan, Chairman of Rotana Jet, says: "Air connectivity is a key component of any country's development. At Rotana Jet, we are committed in developing a safe, reliable, and efficient air transport connecting the various emirates of UAE with the capital to improve easy accessibility both domestically and internationally. This will facilitate greater and more equitable benefits for tourism growth as well." "In today's world the consumers travel behaviour have changed rapidly. They are looking for quicker, comfortable and more efficient ways of reaching from one place to another without spending much time. At Rotana Jet, we believe that we have a contributory role in facilitating this and the announcement of our double daily flights to Fujairah, Al Ain and Sharjah from Abu Dhabi International Airport is just a beginning," Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saif added.
For his part, Al Salami said the strategic location of Fujairah International Airport on the UAE's eastern coast and the accelerating development plans for passenger and cargo traffic reflect the increasing industrial, commercial and tourist importance of the emirate.
On this new service launched at Abu Dhabi international Airport, Ahmed Al Hadabi, CEO for Airports Operations of ADAC, said: "Abu Dhabi Airports Company sees the necessity of connecting the Capital's airport, one of the main aviation hubs in the region, with the other key airports across the Emirates, to further develop connectivity not only for Abu Dhabi but for the whole of the UAE. As one of the fastest growing airports around the world, with the launch of Rotana Jet domestic flights Abu Dhabi International Airport is once more providing high-end, efficient service to meet the needs of its diverse customers."
