Iraqi poet’s collection inspired by Persian poetry
TEHRAN, Jan. 13 (MNA) -- Iraqi poet Abdul Zahra Zaki composed his recent poetry collection with inspiration from Iranian mystics and poets.
Entitled “Lines of Light and Water”, the book was recently published by Dar Al Mada Publications.
The poet created the collection with inspiration from the life and works of Iranian poets including Hafez and Omar Khayyam.
The collection has a mystical perspective that tries to recreate the golden era of Baghdad in which Iranian poets played a crucial role.
This is the third collection by Zaki who is one the most influential poets of the 1970s in Iraq.
