ABOUT 29.000 VICTIMS REHABILITATED

Ulaanbaatar. /MONTSAME/. As of January 1 of this year, a total of 29,878 political victims have been rehabilitated, the State Rehabilitation Commission reports.
The commission held its meeting Tuesday to summarize works done in 2009 and determine goals for 2010. "Mains targets of this year are focused on completing the cases being kept not investigated in archives of the General Intelligence Agency, and to investigate newly exposed political cases concerning the people purged," Chairman of the Commission and Deputy Speaker of Parliament N.Enkhbold highlighted.
In addition, the commission will pay more attention to intensifying the work to rehabilitate purged Mongolian people who went missing since they were taken away to the Former Soviet Union.
The 20th anniversary of the establishment of the State Rehabilitation Commission will be marked this yeart, therefore it intends to introduce and advertise the public the works done in the past years.
Political cases of 6,603 people were reviewed in 2009, the State Supreme Court, courts of first instances and the State General Prosecutor Office have rehabilitated 147 citizens who were the victims of the political frame-up.
