Iran, Japan keen on developing nuclear cooperation

TEHRAN, 29 (MNA) – Iran and Japan on Tuesday voiced their readiness to develop cooperation in nuclear area.


In a meeting with Japanese ambassador Akio Shirota, MP Alaeddin Boroujerdi said Tehran will welcome cooperation with Tokyo in nuclear area.


Boroujerdi, chairman of the Majlis National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, also said Iran is interested to enhance ties with Tokyo in all areas.


There are great potential for both countries to utilize for joint benefit, he added.


The top legislator also underscored the important role the parliaments can play in increasing ties between the two nations.


Shirota also said that Japan is ready to develop nuclear cooperation with Iran.


He stated Tokyo attaches great importance to relations with Tehran.


The ambassador said Japan’s parliament is interested to promote interactions with Iran’s parliament.
