Houthis announce conditions for exchange of captives

Tehran, Dec 14, IRNA - Al-Houthi Shias of Yemen have announced their conditions for exchange of Saudi military personnel captured during the Sadaa war.

Spokesman for Houthi Shia Muslims Muhammad Abdussalam told IRNA in a telephone contact that he could not announce the number of Saudi captives due to political reasons, adding that his fellow fighters had several requests from the Saudi government.

Urging the Saudi army to cease its attacks on Houthis, he also called on Riyadh to ensure them that the Yemeni army would not use the Saudi territories to attack the Houthi Shias.

Abdussalam added that the release of Houthi captives as well as those Yemeni nationals residing in Saudi Arabia who have been arrested by the Saudi government were among other requests of his group from the Saudi regime.

Abdussalam also called on the Saudi regime to refrain from interfering in the Yemeni domestic affairs and stop its assistance to the Yemeni army.

During a savage bombardment by the Saudi forces on Houthis on Sunday, 75 innocent people mainly women and children were killed in Sadaa province.

The Houthi spokesman had formerly said that the Saudi regime was carrying military operations in collusion with the Israeli intelligence apparatus using their satellite information to attack the Shia Muslims./end
