Mottaki: Regional crises cannot be resolved by resorting to ultraregional solutions
Djibouti, Dec 12, IRNA – Iran's foreign minister, who was received by Djiboutian president Friday noon, referring to increased extremism in region said that regional crises cannot be resolved by resorting to ultraregional solutions.
According to IRNA’s dispatched reporter to Djibouti, Manouchehr Mottaki was referring to the wrong policies pursued by the former US administration in the Middle and Near East regions in his meeting with the Djiboutian President, Ismael Omar Guelleh.
“Those policies not only did not uproot terrorism and extremism in the region, but also further aggravated the dimensions of both in Iraq and in Afghanistan,” Mottaki reiterated.
Pointing out the Islamic Republic of Iran’s main priority in foreign policy of proximity with the African countries and both countries’ presidents’ expressed will for expansion of ties, Mottaki referred to the good potentials of the Iranian private sector for making investments in Djibouti’s development, industrial, agricultural, technical, and scientific fields.
Turning to the Middle East issue, he said that the solution to the Palestinian issue is merely materializing of the Palestinian nation’s entire human and natural rights.
President Guelleh, too, expressed delight over the expanding trend of the two countries’ relations, saying, “Holding dialogues and consultations between the two countries’ top officials in various fields in which Iran and Djibouti can have cooperation is a dire need.”
The Djiboutian leader proposed that the Iranian construction and service offering firms would assist Djibouti in economic activities along his country’s coasts.”
The two sides also surveyed fields for political, economic and cultural cooperation, in line with pursuing the agreements made during President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s last year state visit of Djibouti.
President Guelleh and Mottaki in the meeting meanwhile reviewed the latest regional developments in Africa, Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the Djiboutian president stressed need for materializing the Palestinian nation’s full citizenship and human rights through imposing international emphasis, consultations and pressure.
The Iranian foreign minister visited the unfinished building of Djibouti’s Parliament Palace and talked to a number of Iranian investors in that country during the day-long visit./end
