Seminar on art and culture of Iranian nomads to open Wednesday

TEHRAN, Nov. 30 (MNA) -- The Iranian Academy of Arts (IAA) will be holding its second seminar on art and culture of Iran’s nomads in Tehran opening on December 2.

Iranian nomadic tribes are mainly settled in the regions of Chahar-Mahal Bakhtiari, Isfahan, Fars, Khuzestan and Lorestan.



The seminar is organized with the aim of introducing the art and culture of the nomads, seeking methods to help revive the art of the nomads, honoring veteran masters, and supporting and encouraging young artists.



Eight articles are scheduled to be delivered at the session featuring the various issues of hand-woven products of Fars, regional music of the nomads, the position of Ferdowsi’ Shahnameh among the nomads of Lorestan, and the influence of religious beliefs of the nomads in the southern region of the country.



Regional music performances as well as honoring veterans of art are also scheduled during the one-day program. The seminar, open to the public, is at the central building of the academy located on Vali-e Asr Ave. near Taleqani St.
