‘War games proved Iran’s ability in protecting nuclear sites’

TEHRAN, Nov. 27 (MNA) - The press headquarters of the Defenders of the Sky of Velayat II military air exercise released a report on Thursday stating that military war games proved the high capability of the Iranian armed forces in protecting the country’s sensitive and key installations especially nuclear sites in the face of possible military attacks.


The five-day military drill ended on Thursday. The maneuver covered an area of 600,000 square kilometers (230,000 square miles) in the northwest, west, south, and southwest of Iran.


In the war games, air defense units of the Air Force and the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps Aerospace test-fired anti-aircraft systems, targeting mock enemies.


Medium-range surface-to-air Hawk missiles, SAM 6 missile systems, Skyguard fire control units, as well as Oerlikon 20 mm cannons and 23 mm cannons were successfully tested.


In addition, fighter jets recognized and struck mock enemy stealth bombers and fighter jets in sensitive areas of the country.
