Tajik officil lauds Iran’s steadfast stand against world oppressors

Speaker of the parliament of Tajikistan lauded Iran’s staunch position regarding world powers and said the Iranian president’s speech in the UN General Assembly has prompted comfort and happiness in regional countries.

In a meeting here on Friday with the Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe, Mohammad Abid-Allahf said his country identifies with and takes honor in the Iranian power in the world.

Stressing the need to upgrade bilateral relations, he remarked that the bond between three Farsi-speaking countries of Iran, Afghanistan and Tajikistan has created a big power in the world. He referred to the vast scope of civilization of these three countries in different periods of history and called for expanding parliamentary cooperation and visits of their officials.

Abid-Allahf who is also the mayor of Dushanbe requested cooperation between the municipalities in Iran and that of his country’s capital for urban development based on Islamic and Iranian urbanization schemes. He also called for the support of the Tehran municipality and Iranian private sector for setting up and operating health and medical centers and cultural institutes in his country.

During the meeting, Iranian Ambassador Ali-Asqar She’rdoust told the Tajik official that the Iranian public and private sectors are keen to preserve the joint cultural heritage of the two nations in major Tajik cities.

He said Iran is conscious about the importance of the Islamic and cultural monuments in Dushanbe and other cities in the Central Asia which demonstrate the magnificence of Islamic culture in the domain of Iranian civilization.

During the recent years Iran and Tajikistan have signed a number of agreements on indexing and categorizing the historical sites in this Central Asian country including the historical cities of Khojand and Panj-rood. Along this cooperation, the tomb of the great Farsi-speaking poet Roodaki in Panj-rood was completely refurbished.

She’rdoust praised the Tajik government for holding a conference about Abu-Hanifa, the leader of the Hanafi branch of the Sunni sect of Islam in this country, noting that the gathering turned attention of Islamic states to Tajikistan and its capital.
