President : Iran-Iraq security interconnected

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad received Iraq's visiting Parliament Speaker Iad al-Sameri here Tuesday.

According to the Presidential Office Website, President Ahmadinejad told his Iraqi visitor that Iran considers Iraq's security and integrity as its own adding that the seccurity and progress of the two countries are interconnected.
He said Iran and Iraq relations are based upon belief, history and culture and there is a deep emotional feeling between the two nations, which would be a ground for promotion of bilateral and regional ties.
The president underlined that such deep ties are very important from the Islamic world view adding that during the past hundred years, the enemies, by their presence in the region, have tried to create divisions and disputes among Muslim nations.
They also created the fake Zionist regime to constantly hatch plots against regional governments and nations, so all regional countries should cut the hands of the enemies.
He continued that the enemies are even frightened of unity among two Islamic countries so, undoubtedly, creation of unity among Muslim countries will create a big power to oust enemies from the region.
Al-Sameri, for his part, called for expansion and strengthening of cooperation and ties between Tehran and Baghdad and added that nowadays, we need strong and sincere ties between the two countries upon Islamic principles and in this concern in addition to the governments, the two parliaments should also play a role.
He concluded that if Tehran and Baghdad relations strengthen in all fields, no group would be able to disrupt such ties.
