Iran-Azerbaijan Friendship Association opens

Representative office of Iran-Azerbaijan Friendship Association officially started its activities in the province on Saturday.

Representative of the association in Orumiyeh, Rahman Nariman, told IRNA that promoting cooperation, forging communication between the elites of the two nations as well as enhancing collaboration between the merchants of the two countries are among the objectives of the association.

He further noted that the association started its activities three years ago and it will develop its operations in some provincial centers by launching representative offices.

Referring to Iran’s remarkable advancements in different areas, Nariman noted, “We are ready to use the existing capacities to promote mutual cooperation.”

The two countries’ ties are not forged merely for their neighborhood: rather they are based on their common religion and culture, he said.

Nariman also stressed the role such institutes play as crucial to strengthen friendly relations between the two states.

Establishment of non-governmental organization such as the association is an auspicious initiative which can help promote peace and stability in the world, he added.
